EMu's Locations Module does not, at present, seem to have a way of recording the Load Capacity of a storage unit. Users at UPMAA requested this addition for specific collections storage and move projects. It would not be used, realistically, for all collections and storage units, but would be quite handy for some.
The Dimensions Tab has a field group, "Characteristics," that contains fields for Weight in kg and lbs, but that seems to apply to the weight of the storage unit, not to the amount of weight a unit can hold. Is anyone using that field group to handle Load Capacity?
Are other users/clients interested in having "Load Capacity" added as a standard field group to this module? It would, by my specifications, contain two fields, weight in kg and lbs.

Hi Will,
We recently modified the Details tab to enable more detailed and standardised descriptions of Location Holder records. We discussed starting to use the weight field a couple of weeks ago especially in relation to touring exhibition crates.
We are currently not using the existing fields within the Characteristics group and we would be very happy to participate in discussions on introducing fields to record load capacity as opposed to the weight of the actual unit.
I have attached a summary of the changes we made to the Locations module.

| I like the idea of Load Capacity for Locations. I'm not aware of anybody asking for it, but it could be very handy to document that. |
