Hello, I'm certain this is a simple tasks and a bit of a silly question, but wondering if anyone can offer some advice. I am working on our registry settings for volunteers and would like certain fields to be 'greyed out'so that the volunteer would be unable to enter information. I am able to create the registry settings for the mandatory fields without a problem, but obviously the opposite has posed some difficulties. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hi Jean You need to add a column access registry entry for each fields you want to greyed-out (aka read only). Example below. Key 1: Group Key 2: Volunteers Key 3: Table Key 4: ecatalogue Key 5: Column Access Key 6: TitObjectName (this is the name of the field to be greyed out) Value: dvQuery;duQuery;dvDisplay;dvInsert;dvEdit The above means the members of the group Volunteers can query on the field in Search mode and view the field in Display, Edit and Insert mode but not edit the field. If you want to give them edit and insert permissions to the field you'd add the duEdit and duInsert permission to the value above. FYI: dv = Data view and du = Data update Regards, Simon NMA |

Hi Jill, ...what Simon wrote and for Lookup List field types do this Group|Vols|Table|ecatalogue|Lookup|DeaDeaccessionMethod|readonly or Group|Admin|Table|ecatalogue|Lookup|DeaDeaccessionMethod|readwrite as the case may be. regards, Lee-Anne |
