For those who haven't yet seen it come through the various listserves, a consortium called the Metadata Working Group released a Specification Document attempting to standardize the use of embedded metadata fields across the industry. If they succeed, it will potentially impact how many of us map fields within EMu. Considering companies like Adobe, Apple and Microsoft are heavily involved, it seems quite possible they will manage it.
