Hi all, A user has just brought up a very good point with regard to the hazardous flags in EMu. If they search for an object record and find enough information in List View and do not go into Details view, they may very well then go off to touch the object without seeing the forewarning hazard icon and without whatever precautions are necessary for handling the object. It would be great if we could use a Registry entry to colour the list rows a very bright yellow (for example), when records contain hazardous information. What do others think about this? -KB |

I should note that of course the physical objects are tagged... but it is much better to be forewarned so that the personnel or equipment required to handle the object can be arranged in advance. -KB |

Is the hazard icon triggered by data in a particular field? If so, for the time-being, they could add that field to their list views, so at least the information that triggers the icon will show up. -Kara

Hi Kara, Yes this is possible for users who know how to change their list view (some users just do not retain this information!). I have changed the default list view, but of course it is probable that more advanced users will set up their own and deviate away from the default. cheers -Karen |

A good suggestion, Karen. Registry setting for conditionally colouring a row is a good call.
Alternatively, a hardcoded column either left or right of the customisable list view columns could perhaps be added by KE, containing the 4 icons that can apply to a record? That way could see in all list views if a work is (in our case) published to web or has hazards.
