BUSINESS SYSTEMS SUPPORT OFFICER
Responsibilities of the position
The Business Systems Support Officer is responsible for the provision of a variety of business support tasks, including training and user support, creating documentation and other team communications, as well as undertaking data analysis and reporting tasks as required
As Business Systems Support Officer in this team, you will be required, under general direction, to:
- Provide user support and training for the Emu collection management database (known as Opal at the Museum), and the Digital Asset Management system (when it is implemented).
- Develop and maintain the Opal training program for Museum staff. The program is required to equip Museum staff with skills in both general system use and section-specific business processes when using the Opal (Emu) collection management system.
- Develop and maintain user and training documentation for all business systems managed by the CID team. This includes training and user manuals, fact sheets, procedures, and data entry guidelines, in both printed and electronic forms as needed.
- Work with business units to identify and document current work practices relating to data capture in the Museum's business systems that are used to manage the collection and material related to the collection. Develop enhancement specifications for these business systems in order to improve business processes.
- Perform data clean-up and work associated with the migration of data into business systems, and publication of records onto the Museums online catalogue, Collection Search.
- Maintain the Section's intranet website.
- Assist with the maintenance of reports and the reporting of statistical information from business systems.
Remuneration
Annual salary of between $59,825 and $63,438 plus superannuation. Employment conditions are covered by the National Museum of Australia Workplace Agreement 2008 to 2011.
